Tampering with and vandalizing installed CCTV cameras is a crime; citizens encouraged to report those who do

The High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is making an appeal to citizens to report persons seen tampering with or vandalizing components of the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System being currently installed in several areas throughout the Federation. Assistant Commissioner of  Police Ms. Merclyn Hughes who heads the Directorate responsible for Technology indicated that over the last weeks,  cameras in the Shadwell and Conaree areas have been tampered with.

 ACP Hughes said, “we want to appeal to our citizens that should you see persons or hear of persons who may have vandalized the systems (CCTV Cameras) to report it , these systems are installed and are being installed to enhance your safety and security and that of your family and community.”ACP Hughes added, “persons who are caught tampering or vandalizing CCTV equipment and other Citizen Safety.
