Former C.M.O Forced To Retire With Immediate Effect

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Former Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Patrick Martin, says he was instructed to retire from the public service “with immediate effect” on July 14, instead of on the originally scheduled date of November 2017.

Dr. Patrick Martin issued a statement on the matter on Tuesday (July 25).

He told WINN FM that the instruction to retire “with immediate effect” was received by way of a letter delivered to him at his private residence by two police officers at around 3:30pm that same day.

“Well I wasn’t expecting police officers to grace me with their presence with a letter from the Human Resource department saying what it did. I wasn’t expecting that at all. I have surrendered to the capable hands of my attorneys” Dr Martin said.

WINN FM asked if there was a possibility that he was taking legal action against the government. Dr. Martin replied “I am at the mercy and expertise of my attorneys, they will guide me.”
