Chief Justice calls for revitalised mediation tool

THE mediation apparatus or option available to members of the public wishing to settle their differences, is expected to be revitalised sometime in the future.

Recently, at the opening of the second High Court at the Sir Lee Llewelyn Moore Judicial and Legal Services Complex, Basseterre, Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Dame Janice Pereira, indicated that some ground had been lost as it relates to mediation tool in St. Kitts-Nevis. And she expressed her hope that efforts would be made at strengthening it.“I also make reference to mediation which is a part of the tools that the courts use for iproving the efficiency within our courts and to say that I am aware.

“And it is my hope that we will revitalize this very vital aspect, and in that vein, the Honourable Attorney General has made indications that the plan is to have a fully functional mediation centre.”
